Are you a die-hard fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? You are definitely at the right place! Here is the list of the Top 10 Marvel Movies to watch. For readers’ discretion, please do note that mild spoilers lie ahead and that this is list is fully based on my opinion and do feel free to comment below what your favourite Marvel movies are.
10. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
This movie is listed the last because it was a really good movie but I wasn’t a huge fan of it at the same time. It revolves around the characters Star Lord, Gamora, Maskless Sakaaran, Rocket Racoon, Drax, Groot, Thanos and many more characters. Here is where we first get to learn about who Thanos is and how he is related to Gamora. At the same time, we can’t take our eyes away from the cutest character in the movie, Groot. His line (I AM GROOT!) has become so popular that everyone in the whole wide world knows it! This movie is a ridiculously entertaining romp filled with bursts of action and laughter. All in all it is such an amazing movie to watch with family and friends.
9. IRON MAN
To be really honest I was very impressed with this movie and Iron Man used to be my favourite superhero (note that I said ‘used to’ because you will find out later in this post who my current one is) because he has an awesome suit and amazing power. This movie mainly revolves around Tony Stark who is a billionaire conducting weapon tests overseas when he gets kidnapped by terrorists to build them extraordinary weapons. Instead, he decides to build a suit to save himself from the kidnappers. Later on, when he returns to America, he decides to keep using the suits to fight against crime. There is no specific good part of the movie because the whole movie was filled with it.
8. THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN
This movie was another wonderful piece that started making me like superhero movies more. It all begins with Peter Parker aka Spider man is abandoned by his parents and is raised by his Aunt May. He used to be the kid who got bullied at school until he got bit by a radioactive spider. He also found a mysterious suitcase left by his father and decided to solve the mystery of his parents’ disappearance. His search takes him to Oscorp and the lab of Dr.Curt Connors only to find out that he will need to fight him to save the day. This story also goes around Gwen who is Peter’s crush. One of the best moments of this movie is the web sling scene between Peter and Gwen.
7. THE AVENGERS
Here is where it all began. This is the first step of forming the best superhero team of all time. When Loki (Thor’s brother) gains access to gains access to unlimited power through the Tesseract energy cube, Nick Fury initiates a superhero team recruitment to fight against him. The members of the team (The Avengers) are Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Interesting parts of this movie are when the Avengers meet one another. Some were interesting and some were funny to watch whereas the others were both interesting and funny. This is one of the must watch movies for the MCU fans.
6. DOCTOR STRANGE
The main character of this movie, Dr Stephen Strange’s life takes a huge turn when he gets involved in a life changing car accident. His ability to use his hands get affected and he goes into a stage of being fed up after all sorts of medication fails to bring back his ability to use his hands. Therefore, he seeks hope and healing from a mysterious enclave. At first he does not believe in it but he dedicates himself to learn all about it to make sure he has a chance of healing. Later on, he learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. This movie is filled with many funny parts and it will keep the watchers wanting to know what happens next as it has a unique plot to it.
5. THOR: RAGNAROK
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk, his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization. Hela is Thor’s sister who is known as the goddess of death. This movie revolves around on what happens to Thor and the Asgardians. This movie was one of the most entertaining movie of the MCU production with a strong genre of comedy.
4. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR
When the avengers are doing their job, saving the day, they end up causing a massive damage to the public properties. The Avengers are asked to stay away from saving the day as they are causing more damage than saving the citizens but it is not agreed by all the members. They end up splitting into two teams which are Team Stark, led by Iron Man and Team Cap, led by Captain America. Those standing by Iron Man are Black Widow, War Machine, Vision, Black Panther and Spider man. Team Cap on the other consist of Hawkeye, Vision, Winter Soldier, Scarlet witch and Ant Man. This is the movie which introduced Black Panther, Spider man and Ant Man for the first time as members of the Avengers.
3. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
This movie revolves around Thanos after his appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy. Part of the Avengers once again come together to fight against him. There are 6 stones in total that the Avengers are in charge of guarding; the soul stone, reality stone, mind stone, space stone, time stone and power stone. Each of these stones are guarded by different avengers while the other superheroes help to guard it. The most common phrase said by those who have watched this movie is ‘Everyone dies’ but I would not like to spoil anything here in my blog post. This movie is considered interesting as we will be able to see who has the infinity stones and how the Avengers guard it. It is certainly a must watch movie for all Marvel fans.
2. SPIDER MAN HOMECOMING
As I said earlier, I would reveal my favourite superhero andddd here he is!! To me Spider man is a character really close to my heart because he is a cute and innocent teenager who unexpectedly gets superpowers. Tom Holland is the best Spider man ever. This movie has a lot of awesome scenes and Iron Man’s appearance in this movie brings a feel of father and son bonding between Tony and Peter. It might sound a little odd but you will definitely understand what I meant after watching this movie. The movie goes about of how Peter learns to use his powers and become more than the friendly neighbourhood Spider man we know.
1. BLACK PANTHER
This movie is another terrific super hit by Marvel. It had a unique plot and the introduction of Vibranium was very interesting. It had a plot of T'Challa returning home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king after his father’s death. He faces conflict when an outsider (Killmonger) claims that he is rightful for the throne too. The interesting part of the movie is how the Black Panther fights against his enemies and holds onto his rightful position as the king. There are also scenes in this movie where the power of women is shown through Okoye, Nakia and Shuri. All in all it is a great movie and it takes the title of the best Marvel movie yet in my opinion.
