Little Habits to Practice

Hi everybody! We are entering the second week of February in a few days which means we have got through 39 days of the year already. Amazing, right? Surely you would want to be the best version of you for the 326 days to come.

What I have with me is a list of 10 little things you could incorporate into your life to make yourself more productive. Let’s get into it, okay.

· Make your bed – Making your bed early in the morning gives you a sense of productivity. It also makes you feel better about yourself because if you end up doing nothing that day, at least you’ve made your bed. You’ve achieved something.

· Prepare your things the night before – This eliminates any urge to procrastinate. Often when you think of doing it “tomorrow”, you end up rushing yourself at the last minute. If you plan things ahead of time, you would feel more relaxed and your head would be clear of worries.

· Set a skincare routine – This goes out to everyone, not just girls. A simple skincare routine consisting of face wash, toner and moisturiser would do. Never ever forget sunscreen. If you want to be more elaborate, you can try the 10-step Korean skincare routine.

· Hug at least three people daily – No joke. When hugging, our oxytocin levels increase. Oxytocin calms our nervous system and boosts positive emotions, helping you feel less anxious. More about it here.

· Create art – A sketch, a collage, a poem, anything! It might be horrible but you need to keep the tap flowing to get rid of dirty water first right? Similarly, we need to get the awful ideas out of our system first. Then only can the good ones flow out.

· Change your sheets – Do it every 3-4 weeks. You’d be surprised at the amount of dust and dead skin accumulated on the bedsheets. No, you can’t see it but the average bed has 10 million dust mites. Don’t believe me? Read more about it here.

· Do a face mask – There are so many types- peel-off, exfoliating, sheet masks. Find one that suits your skin type. Face masks give your skin an instant boost, an afterglow and some time to relax for 10-20 minutes.

· Learn something new – Acquire a new skill. It can be anything- cooking, sewing, even conversational skills! There are a ton of books and apps out there to help you out with the skills or hobbies you want to take up.

· Start an expenses tracker – We tend to overspend when we don’t see how much cash is flowing out of our pockets. A finance tracker is extremely useful so we can physically see how much money we currently have, our income and our expenses.

· Do a room detox – Clean up your room and give away or sell anything you don’t want or might not need anymore. It gives other people a chance to love the things the way you did AND gives your room more space for newer things. It’s a win-win!

That’s all for now, everybody! Hope we made your future days a little more productive. Leave a comment and let us know what you think!

All the love,

Tris.
